Happy October, Stitchers! The air is getting crisp, the leaves are turning, and that can only mean one thing—it’s cozy season! As the days grow shorter, our sewing rooms start calling us back with the promise of warm quilts, snuggly flannels, and handmade gifts from the heart. Now’s the perfect time to dive into those Christmas projects (or finally start the ones you’ve been planning since July!). Whether you’re stitching for someone special or treating yourself to a little creative time, I’ve gathered autumn inspiration and shop updates to keep your needles—and your imagination—busy this month. Apliquick Fusible Interfacing Sale!I recently uncovered a hidden treasure in the studio—33 packages of Apliquick Fusible Interfacing in the original packaging! While Apliquick doesn’t sell this version widely anymore, it’s a fantastic lightweight fusible for turned-edge appliqué and other delicate projects. Once these are gone, they’re gone for good. To celebrate cozy season (and make room on the shelves), I’m offering them for just $10 a package—perfect for holiday stitching or handmade gifts. Limited quantities available—stock up while they last. Apliquick SaleTo make things even better, all other Apliquick products are now $10 off. If you’ve ever wanted to try the Apliquick method, now’s the perfect time to dive in. From precision tools to appliqué rods, these smart supplies make detailed stitching easier and more enjoyable. Shopping early also helps ensure gifts arrive well before the holiday rush. Abris Art Kits In Stock

Raving About My Bead AppI’m just finishing up the Small Snowflake kit, and my Bead App Lap Table has been a game changer. The adjustable neck saved my neck from strain, and for the first time, I could bead comfortably while watching TV for hours without feeling sore. The specially designed top kept my beads perfectly in place—I didn’t lose a single bead during this project. I currently have 3 Bead Apps and 3 Lap Apps in stock, and because I’m loving them so much, I’m putting them on sale so you can try them too. These clever lap tables are perfect for beading, embroidery, English paper piecing, appliqué, or hand quilting. A Note for Island ShoppersI’ll be on Vancouver Island and would love to help you save on shipping. I’ll be in Campbell River on Saturday, October 18, 2025 for Hands Across the Water and at a guild pop-up in Parksville on Monday, October 20, 2025. If you’d like to order and pick up in person, please place your order now. I’m happy to set items aside so you’re sure to get what you want. Select “Pickup” at checkout to waive the shipping fee. If I don’t have your item in stock, I’ll be back on the Island November 14–16 in Campbell River, and in Duncan on November 17 for a guild presentation. I can also stop in other communities along the way—Courtenay, Comox, French Creek, and more. If you’re unable to make it to a sale location, please reach out. As a disabled person myself, I understand mobility limitations and want to make sure all my crafters get their supplies. Message me and we can arrange a drop-off. Support Cats in Need
We’re continuing our fundraiser for the Cat Therapy & Rescue Society until the end of the year. 100% of proceeds from our Cat Needle Minders will be donated to this registered Canadian charity.
Every minder you purchase directly supports their life-saving work. *If you purchase the needle minder only, I’ll credit back the parcel shipping cost—this item fits in a standard envelope. **If you’d like the shipping cost donated as well, leave a note and I’ll donate it and ship in a standard envelope. Shipping UpdateWith the ongoing Canada Post strike, I’ve explored alternative shipping solutions—and I’m happy to share good news. I’ve found a more affordable option for parcel deliveries, which means all Canadian shipping prices have been lowered for the foreseeable future. If everything continues to run smoothly, this will become a permanent switch for parcels. For small items that fit in a letter envelope, I’ll continue using Canada Post, as it remains the most economical choice for lightweight mail. Cindy’s on the RoadThank you to everyone who came out to the market in Vernon and the pop-up at the Kelowna Quilters Guild. It was so wonderful to meet so many of you in person, hear about your projects, and see some truly magnificent quilts. Your creativity and enthusiasm are always inspiring, and I’m so grateful for your continued support of Cindy’s Thread Works. Here are our next live events!
