Perhaps a better name would be Journal or News. I chose B.L.O.G.—who knew that “word” would become traditional? The good news is “Quilting” will always be universally recognized no matter what language we translate. We’ll still be searching for creative ways to express quilt art and new locations to shop for essentials. We desire inspirational instructors, exciting fabrics and especially quality THREADS—the glue! Our support network of quilters through satellite groups, guilds, and communities is vibrant (especially here, on Vancouver Island, BC). Join me as I share how-to articles on Threads and techniques, quilting events, profiles on fabric artists, natural things of beauty and  general interest to curious and resourceful stitchers! ...Cindy Scraba (Cinderella)

Superior Rainbows™ Threads Go Green

Posted by cindy on Saturday, March 5th, 2011

Rainbows™ #809 Kailua variegated trilobal polyester.

Traditionally, the month of March is known for its early signs of spring. Although our weather patterns aren't in alignment lately, I know we're thinking "green thoughts"...these 3 THREAD Stars have done their best work: Rainbows™ #820 Lime Squeeze (variegated trilobal poly) and Metallics™ #24 Green Apple, which added definition to this geometric, quilt-friendly design.

Now available! For your convenience, NEW mini Metallics "B" pack includes these first 8 colors; Metallics "A" packs includes more solids with the 2 variegateds previously posted in my Jan. 1st Blog. My mini prewounds, often referred to as lifesavers, are perfect for smaller projects, like card stitching, bobbin work or to use as a top Thread in 16 different Thread colors.

HALO™ decorative Threads are versatile and often overlooked--for creative quilting, bobbin work, hand/card stitching, embellishing, knitting, crocheting, serging, or whenever you need a sparkle. These mini bobbins are just the right amount to try flavours without having to purchase the complete cone. Many of the variegated Halo™ colors are waiting to be discovered. Who knew Halo™ #363 Maui was so tropical and green?!!

16 mini HALO™ colors are ready-to-go...Halo set "B" has mostly variegateds, while "A" has solids; polyester Threads spun with gold & silver metallic. (reminder: Halo™ is a finer bobbin Thread than the Razzle Dazzle™, see my pre-posted articles; great for handstitching, etc.)

dynamic contrast on black background...
It's always fun to play the "what-happens-if" game. For this design, I've stitched Metallics™ #31 Silver Variegated on both a light and dark background/cardstock; simply visualize any fabric as your medium. #31 is also available in the Metallics™ Set "A". (Thread Pak colors subject to availability...check back for new colors ongoing!)

A limited number of gift cards are currently available as my "Ready-to-Stitch Kits" from Cindy's Threadworks shopping cart or if you're locally located, visit my show booths at the upcoming Victoria Creative Stitches & Crafting Alive Show Mar. 9 & 10th @ Pearkes Rec. Ctr. AND Abbotsford Mar. 23 & 24th, 2012.
