Welcome to Cinderella's Blog
Perhaps a better name would be Journal or News. I chose B.L.O.G.—who knew that “word” would become traditional? The good news is “Quilting” will always be universally recognized no matter what language we translate. We’ll still be searching for creative ways to express quilt art and new locations to shop for essentials. We desire inspirational instructors, exciting fabrics and especially quality THREADS—the glue! Our support network of quilters through satellite groups, guilds, and communities is vibrant (especially here, on Vancouver Island, BC). Join me as I share how-to articles on Threads and techniques, quilting events, profiles on fabric artists, natural things of beauty and general interest to curious and resourceful stitchers! ...Cindy Scraba (Cinderella)

Comox Valley's Colorful Quilting Community
Posted by cindy on Monday, August 30th, 2010

The Comox Valley Exhibition was held the last weekend in August and included a Quilt Show, which featured artist/instructor, Judy Farrow of Parksville, BC (above L in photo). Her many years spent living and working in Canada's Great White North, including Baffin Island and NWT's, are now reflected and woven within her quilted legacies.

Other Guild members from surrounding areas visited as well. Above is Barb Round (R) of the Campbell River Friendship Quilters Guild and also the active CQA/ACC Coastal Rep.

Congratulations to Joan Boyle and her fabulous pieced frenzy, "Fall Fantasy", which earned 3 ribbons. Credits: Judy Neimeyer pattern and workshop
Several Comox Valley Quilters shared many of the volunteer and hostess duties under the leadership of Marie Trimmer of the Cumberland Quilt Shop. Ionne McCauley, fiber artist and teacher, judged the event. Congratulations to everyone for producing a great quilt show within the exhibition. All your ribbons were well-deserved.
I look forward to May 20-22, 2011 when the Comox Schoolhouse Quilters Guild produces their Quilt Show in conjunction with the town of Cumberland "Empire Days".

Look who was also curious about my Thread Candy Shoppe and mosied right in while singing and playing their instruments without skipping a beat.
