Welcome to Cinderella's Blog
Perhaps a better name would be Journal or News. I chose B.L.O.G.—who knew that “word” would become traditional? The good news is “Quilting” will always be universally recognized no matter what language we translate. We’ll still be searching for creative ways to express quilt art and new locations to shop for essentials. We desire inspirational instructors, exciting fabrics and especially quality THREADS—the glue! Our support network of quilters through satellite groups, guilds, and communities is vibrant (especially here, on Vancouver Island, BC). Join me as I share how-to articles on Threads and techniques, quilting events, profiles on fabric artists, natural things of beauty and general interest to curious and resourceful stitchers! ...Cindy Scraba (Cinderella)

Bye-Bye-Birdies

July 31st, 10:29AM...(10 days after hatching) with no signs THIS was to be check-out day?! However, this is the final family photo of Hewie & Dewie with littler Lewise underneath as you'll see later...Up until now, I hadn't seen their whole bodies to visualize their true sizes. And Mum Robin still stayed with them during the night.

10:30AM...The pair raised up, flapped their wings for the first time and landed softly into this bed of lambs' ears below. All "3" of us were surprised! Likely, they were relieved to soon be rid of this pesky paparazzo.

Dewie: "I don't know where I'm going, but I'm outta here. C'est la vie!" hopping down the driveway and chirping for Mum Robin.

11:30AM...about an hour later, I was very fortunate to notice this AND be able to photograph and share this while Mum continued to feed and follow. Note: the feathers still have to develop a lot more. It takes about 2 weeks for them to obtain their 'full flight' capabilities. Bye-Bye!

2:40PM... Meanwhile back at the nest, Lewise is hoping for her own miracle... after chirping non-stop for a couple of hours. Even though Mum Robin came to her aid and fed her, she was still antsy.

She promptly made her exit while checking out some new surroundings for a moment.

This was the first and last chance I had to view how petite she was compared to Hewie & Dewie--amazing I was able to watch her leave and capture this final photograph. "Thank you shy Lewise."
It's been a privilege to witness this entire adventure unfold. The empty nest is a reminder of the many miracles I witnessed and was able to share with you in this Blog. I sincerely hope you enjoyed reading them? Please comment below and I will know 'someone' else enjoyed this once-in-a-lifetime experience. I'm sure I could have made an entire quilt in the time I spent photographing and journalling; however it was worth Mother Nature's special gift. I am always grateful for happy endings.
