Perhaps a better name would be Journal or News. I chose B.L.O.G.—who knew that “word” would become traditional? The good news is “Quilting” will always be universally recognized no matter what language we translate. We’ll still be searching for creative ways to express quilt art and new locations to shop for essentials. We desire inspirational instructors, exciting fabrics and especially quality THREADS—the glue! Our support network of quilters through satellite groups, guilds, and communities is vibrant (especially here, on Vancouver Island, BC). Join me as I share how-to articles on Threads and techniques, quilting events, profiles on fabric artists, natural things of beauty and  general interest to curious and resourceful stitchers! ...Cindy Scraba (Cinderella)

Ssssh--Surprise!

Isn't this the most perfect Robin Egg blue you've ever seen! What a surprise and honor to have a pair of delightful Robins nest in this tree at my front doorstep onCanada Day.

The Mom and Dad are taking shifts guarding their eggs and nest while keeping an eye out for predators or peeps on ladders.

Robins lay (on average 4 eggs) one per day which she did with perfection--one exception--there's only 3?! (Oh well, that's more manageable for all us since it's my first time, too.)

She rotates the eggs regularly with her bill and uses her body to shade and maintain the perfect temperature which she instinctively knows. She leaves the nest often to feed; occasionally I startle her when I walk past forgetting it's a temporary "quiet zone"!

Yes, this tiny tree was their choice to celebrate Canada Day and build a nest. (Photo taken in June while in bloom.) Stay tuned for the exciting news which is any day now. Names anyone?
