Perhaps a better name would be Journal or News. I chose B.L.O.G.—who knew that “word” would become traditional? The good news is “Quilting” will always be universally recognized no matter what language we translate. We’ll still be searching for creative ways to express quilt art and new locations to shop for essentials. We desire inspirational instructors, exciting fabrics and especially quality THREADS—the glue! Our support network of quilters through satellite groups, guilds, and communities is vibrant (especially here, on Vancouver Island, BC). Join me as I share how-to articles on Threads and techniques, quilting events, profiles on fabric artists, natural things of beauty and  general interest to curious and resourceful stitchers! ...Cindy Scraba (Cinderella)

Quiltscape Inspirations 1

Inspirations for Quiltscapes can appear as rare gifts from nature. I came across these 2 mammoth, banded agates (left: sliced and polished) at a roadside Rock & Gem shop while on my way to explore the landscapes at Zion Park, Utah. Not from this geographic area, these unique geodes reveal many color schemes waiting to be discovered and appreciated--always unique. I love how nature teaches us about layering color and texture.

You've seen the bumper stickers on cars: This car stops at all quilt shops...mine usually stops at all rock shops. Luckily, my sister who was driving also loves rocks, and knew just what to do!

A perfect marine color scheme...simply pick up one (500 lbs.!) and take it to your local quilt shop: I want these colors, please. Or, Click on any of my thread lines to choose colors similar to these--I promise it's easier. Plus, Mother Superior, Heather Purcell of Superior Threads, has expertly and conveniently created color families (with cute names) in glorious tones for all thread lines. (Click on my STORE PRODUCTS and scroll down to Color Cards!)

You never know where you'll encounter the next inspiration for a cool quiltscape.
