Perhaps a better name would be Journal or News. I chose B.L.O.G.—who knew that “word” would become traditional? The good news is “Quilting” will always be universally recognized no matter what language we translate. We’ll still be searching for creative ways to express quilt art and new locations to shop for essentials. We desire inspirational instructors, exciting fabrics and especially quality THREADS—the glue! Our support network of quilters through satellite groups, guilds, and communities is vibrant (especially here, on Vancouver Island, BC). Join me as I share how-to articles on Threads and techniques, quilting events, profiles on fabric artists, natural things of beauty and  general interest to curious and resourceful stitchers! ...Cindy Scraba (Cinderella)

Dissolve™ water soluble stabilizer with Thread or Paint?

Posted by cindy on Tuesday, April 13th, 2010

This technique incorporates 2 layers of  Dissolve™  water soluble stabilizer along with various fibers and threads (Glitter, Razzle Dazzle) stitched together by free motion quilting and laying down tons of thread. While attending the School of Threadology at Superior Threads in April, one of my favorite classes was taught by educator, author and quilt artist, Cindy Needham who encouraged using as many threads as possible, which wasn't difficult for me! I realize this doesn't look like much unless you decipher my aerial view attempt of Thread-Playland.

Some of you know I have a modest collection of vintage linens and a huge appreciation, so I was thrilled to be up close and personal with so many of Cindy Needham's quilts. Thank you to Cindy for autographing my copy of her special book: Wholecloth Linen Quilts  which features her artistic use of vintage and antique heirlooms within her quilted creations. Visit her website and view her gallery, famous miniatures and her spectacular quilting!
